Hi, I am Lacinda Swen.
Welcome, I’m glad you’re here
Welcome — I'm glad you're here.
Whether you're navigating the challenges of dating, healing from heartbreak, or searching for authentic friendships and community, you don’t have to go through it alone. Relationships can bring deep joy — and deep pain. If you're feeling anxious, disconnected, or questioning your worth, therapy can be a powerful space for healing and growth.
I work with people who want to heal from relational pain, strengthen their relationship with themselves, and build meaningful, healthy connections with others. In addition, I support Christians seeking faith-based therapy to navigate relational issues. In our work together, you'll find a supportive space to process your experiences, gain insight, and take intentional, brave steps toward the life and relationships you desire.
Here’s a bit more about me:
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master’s from Columbia University. I grew up in Northern Virginia and live here now with my husband.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and strength-based. We will tailor our work to meet your unique needs and goals, integrating evidence-based practices from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
I offer relational therapy, which means we’ll explore connection, presence, and emotional growth together — in real time.
I believe healing happens both inside and outside of therapy. I’ll encourage you to support your work here with practices like movement, journaling, quality sleep, time in nature, and connection with loved ones.
Faith and spirituality are welcome in this space. As a Christian, I can incorporate faith-based approaches if you wish — or honor your preference not to.
My goal is to help you feel empowered, seen, and supported. Therapy is your space, and we'll tailor it to fit your values, needs, and goals. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on this journey — feel free to reach out with any questions as you consider your next steps.
I am currently an out-of-network provider for all health insurance plans. However, I am in the process of becoming credentialed with Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Shield
In the meantime, I offer flexible payment options, including self-pay and the use of Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA). I also provide documentation, often referred to as a superbill, for clients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider.
If you have any questions about payment or insurance, feel free to reach out for more information.
“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do.”
