Nothing Is “Wrong”… So Why Consider Therapy?

This week, I had two conversations about therapy—when people should start and what to expect.
Honestly, what you experience in therapy depends on the therapist and their approach.
But let me share with you what to expect at A Rhaea Hope.
I remember when I first started therapy. I told a friend, and she said,“So… you’re going to find out you were abused?”
And I was like… am I?
I thought I was just trying to figure my life out.
But that moment stuck with me. Because a lot of people think therapy is about digging up something “wrong” with you—or making you believe something happened that didn’t.
This came up twice this week—“I don’t need therapy because nothing is wrong with me.”
And my response? You’re right. There isn’t.
At A Rhaea Hope, that’s not our focus.
Our focus is you.
What’s been weighing on you. The thoughts you haven’t said out loud. The patterns you keep repeating.
We create space for you to process—and give you tools to move forward. So what people see on the outside actually matches how you feel on the inside.
One of the most common questions I get is: When should I consider therapy?
You don’t have to wait until everything is falling apart.
Sometimes it looks like:
“I thought my life would feel different by now.”
Avoiding your finances because it stresses you out
Ending a relationship and realizing you need support
Wanting more for yourself… but not knowing what that is
The Sunday scaries, thinking about work the next day
Feeling behind in life
Wanting community but not knowing where to start
